Baroncini Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil

$60.00

The Baroncini Olive Oil is made with two of the most famous Sicilian varieties Nocellara del Belice, and Cerasuola. The Nocellara del Belice Variety (Commonly known as the Castelvetrano Variety) is the most grown variety in the Asaro Farms. Its flavor is buttery, pizzicante with notes of tomato leaf, and bitter almond. It's an ancient variety that has been growing in Sicily since the 3000 B.C.E.

The Asaro Farms harvest this fruit in the beginning of October, and cold press it within hours of being picked. This guarantees a fresher, greener and delicious Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Apart from being one of the most delicious varieties, it's definitely one of the healthiest. The Nocellara del Belice olive oil contains 340 mg of polyphenols/ kg - making it a Superfood. The healthiest fat on the planet (monounsaturated and cholesterol free).

The Cerasuola Variety is grown at higher altitudes than the Nocellara del Belice, this variety is one of the heartiest on the planet. Its oil has notes of hay, almond and marjoram with a bitter and spicy finish. If The Baroncini Oil could be described like wine, it would be a very long, rich, yet young wine. It's balanced to make it the perfect cooking oil, while also maintaining depth and character as a finishing oil.

This is Nico. He is one of three people who watches over the 15,000 olive trees at the farm. Nico doesn’t want to travel the property by tractor or bike because he says it’s not efficient. So he walks, on average, 100 kilometers a month o
